He was Most Inspired and received his 3rd Degree Black Belt under Rubin Coffey’s system. After Rubin Coffey had passed away he lead the way to carry on Rubin Coffee's system which is still today a growing system. He sought out and began training in 1991 under someone who knew Rubin Coffey very well, Grand Master Bill Klase, a 10th Degree Black Belt, who instructed and ranked Master Tim McCahan through his 5th Degree Black Belt. He had been training very hard for 10 years with Grand Master John Prevatt, a 9th Degree Black Belt and a National Fighting Champion, who has excelled Tim’s fighting capability to become a State Champion in Florida. Grand Master John Prevatt has had a great impact on his career, ability wise, and in a business sense. Grand Master John Prevatt in 2003 had granted Master Tim McCahan to his 6th Degree Black Belt, and now recently this year Grand Master Carl Stone, a long time friend and a 40 year martial arts instructor in the Tampa Bay area, granted Master Tim McCahan to his Seventh Degree Black Belt on February 19, 2011.
